Discover our local Anna Maria Island artist, Cory Wright, who enjoys painting outdoors, a term known as "en plein air," and the beach is her favourite muse! With her "portable studio," consisting of a collapsable easel, travel paintbox and umbrella, all tucked in her backpack, Cory can often be found outside from one end of the island to the other capturing the beautiful effects of light and shadow on the land and sea around her. She’s one of our favourite artists.
Prices of Custom Oil Paintings
In addition to showing her paintings at The Studio at Gulf and Pine Gallery in the village of Anna Maria, Cory is currently offering on-site custom plein air beach paintings featuring families. The base price for an (unframed) 8x10 oil on linen is $300 and typically takes about 2 hours to complete. An 11x14 is $500 and larger sizes are, of course, available as well.
A custom beach oil painting would make a great "beach wedding" gift too! If you'd like to commission a custom beach painting with your family as the subject, or have a painting done of your favourite spot on the island, a beach house portrait, etc.
