In the event you are looking for light recreational kayaking, paddle boards, etc... we would recommend using Fun and More Rentals, Beach Bums or AMI Paddleboard. Beach Bums is located in Anna Maria. Fun and More Rentals & AMI Paddleboard are located in Holmes Beach. The first two will drop off and pick up rentals straight to your door. We’ve had great fun taking kayak eco-tours out of Longboat Key. It’s a bit of a drive but the guides are super knowledgable and fun. They are sure to show you all the best things about the inter coastal waterway, like starfish, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, dolphins, manatees and more. Great for all ages and physical activity level! Power and Pontoon Boats
If you are looking for a power boat, here are our recommendations; The Island Scooter Store in Holmes Beach has a small selection of pontoon boat rentals, but they are new and in great shape. They will deliver to your dock and give you an instructional course as you drive them back to their marina. They have golf carts and scooters for rent as well. Cannons Marina in Longboat Key has the largest fleet and is the longest running boat rental company on the island. They are a little more expensive but provide you with a plethora of information and great boats. We have not rented from Just4Fun ourselves but we often see their boats out on the waterfront. They are located in Holmes Beach and have a small fleet available. They are fluent in both German and English.
Boat, Jet Ski and Parasailing Excursions
We have sailed on a charter with Captain Kathe based out of Cortez and had a lovely family time with her first mate Pup Pup, the cutest cocker spaniel ever. Captain Kathe is passionate and very knowledgable about the inter coastal waterway. Her charters specialize in Eco Tours and boast the best rates in town. We haven't had a chance to rent from Bradenton Beach Marina ourselves, but we have heard that they offer group boating excursions such as sail boats and charters. They also have Jet Skis and Waverunners and parasailing available for rent.
Fishing Excursions
AMI Outfitters Coastal Gear & Apparel store on Pine Ave will be happy to set up a fishing charter for your needs. Either kayaking-angling or on the flats, charters are available for you with a guide that is knowledgable about the best spots to catch a local fish. Galati Marina also offers Charter Fishing. They are located on the northern end of the island in Anna Maria. They specialize in deep sea and sport fishing.
Excursions & Boating Classes
Seaduced Watercraft Adventures is also a long running outfit located in Holmes Beach at the Mainsail Marina. They offer powerboat rentals, power and sail boat tours as well as Power and sail classes.
Water Shuttle Service
If you are of a more sedentary type you may opt for the Anna Maria Island Water Shuttle Service. A quaint historic 49 passenger launch. It is not only a shuttle but can also be chartered privately for weddings, etc... Which has services running from Sarasota all the way to Longboat Key, Holmes Beach and Bradenton.
