North Americans love their pizza and let's face it, it's an easy, inexpensive and healthy meal for the whole family. If you're visiting Anna Maria Island, Florida and want Insider information on the best pizza on the island, you're in for a treat.
We have listed our top, favorite pizzeria's on the island where you can't go wrong. We are by no means the experts but we do LOVE GOOD FOOD, so here's hoping we will do you proud.
# 1 - Vinny & Cheryl's Italian Kitchen
5337 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach 941-896-9754
This pizza is robust with authentic flavours. Generous portions and a crushed tomato sauce that transports us back to Italy. You can tell that the dough is made by an Italian chef because the crust is the perfect balance between crispy and soft on the inside. The cheese is real mozzarella that has a creamy texture. Made fresh daily in a wood burning oven for take out only. It tops our SmackDown list !
Insider Tip:
Vinny & Cheryl's is a now a sit down or take-out only restaurant. There is limited seating inside. Make sure you order your pizza early and pick it up by 6:30 pm. Give the chef in your group a break and eat your pizza wile dining al fresco at your vacation rental's backyard oasis.

By far the pies at Pizza Social are the best value in town. The 10 inch wood fired pizzas start at $11.00 each. They offer a wide selection of delicious combinations to choose from. The crust is thin and light and crispy. The friendly staff keep the pizza pies coming out hot and fresh out of their wood fired oven. We also love their garlic knots with garlic sauce... so mouth wateringly delicious!
Insider Tip: Keep in mind this is a popular, busy location so do order ahead during high season (March to July). At that time it could take up to 2 hours for them to make your pizza they are so busy.
# 3 - The Feast's Pizza

The Feast's pizza is guaranteed Hand tossed only using the freshest ingredients. What we love about this pizza is the sauce. They have over 27 different toppings to choose from! Ranging from peas.... yes I said peas... to traditional toppings like feta cheese and eggplant. The Feast thinks outside the box when they talk pizza. They also offer signature pizza's like White Pizza, Pretty Tasty, Mighty Meaty and The Works. Pizza are offered in 14 or 16 inch sizes. Prices range from $15.50 - 20.00. A definite yes on our list!
Insider Tip:
The Feast Restaurant is located on Marina Drive right next to the Free Trolley Stop.... very handy and no designated driver required!
# 4 - Oma's Pizza
201 Gulf Drive North, Bradenton Beach

With two types of crust to choose from Hand Tossed or Inch Thick Sicilian crust, this pie is at it's best while eaten outdoors with the beautiful view. A family owned business that has been a staple on the island for years. The sauce is not too spicy and the portions generous. You will probably have leftovers. We hear the calzones are good too. Oma's rounds out Number 3 on our Pizza SmackDown list.
Insider Tip:
Oma's is located towards the southern end of the island, so if you are ordering delivery it may arrive at your vacation rental a bit soggy. Best bet is to eat in the restaurant or pick it up yourself.

Joey D's has been an institution for pizza in the city of Bradenton Florida since 1994. They offer a multitude of types of pizza. From thin crust to Sicilian crust, Chicago style to Cauliflower Gluten Free Pizza, this really is a great option for anyone who loves pizza especially deep dish Chicago style.
We love the simple yet totally scrumptious Nonna's Margherita pizza but there are so may flavors they offer. Pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushroom, black olives, green olives, tomatoes, onion, feta cheese, white American cheese, ricotta cheese, etc.. etc... It's a great option if you are up for a 15 minute drive onto the mainland.
