The village of Anna Maria is full of tasty sweet options to try and very conveniently located close to each other.

The best place so start is on Pine Avenue and work your way around to Gulf Drive.
We love grabbing our sweet treat and heading to the historic City Pier that has just been rebuilt.
Two Scoops ~ Anna Maria
Two Scoops is an iconic ice cream shop. Located directly across the street from the Anna Maria City Pier. It opened in 2007 and has a rating of TripAdvisor Excellence Award!
Not only can you choose from 32 delicious ice cream flavors but you can scoop up some candies, merch and breakfast or lunch too. My family loves the chili cheese hot dogs served in potato buns... yummm!
A great spot to get an ice cream and meander down the City Pier to see what the fishermen are catching.

Hometown Desserts ~ Anna Maria
Hometown Desserts is the perfect spot to order your specialty custom birthday cakes, cookies and more sweet confections. The "star" of their portfolio is the Key Lime Coconut cake.
The cupcakes and cake pops are beautifully created coming out of the kitchen from this Southern cook's little baking factory.
Founded in 2007 this little spot is a local favorite and has also opened up to a second location in Holmes Beach in 2016.

Dips Ice Cream ~ Anna Maria
Dips ice cream and candy shop was founded in 1993 and has moved into the Anna Maria General Store location on Pine Avenue on the north end of the island.
Dips has a solid following and offers popular ice cream flavours as well as old fashioned candy choices. The shop is jam packed with candies and cool novelties for you to peruse.
It's a great spot to get in out of the cold and grab a sweet treat while meandering down Pine Avenue.

Here you won't find your typical ice cream cones but this incredible mochi ice cream also known as Hawaiian Ice Cream Bubbles.... so freakin' good and they won't melt in the sun! Encased in a sweetened rice dough that tastes like fondant. One bite into this soft and chewy bubble and the ice cream tucked inside is released into your mouth. You gotta try this!

Famous and world renowned The Donut Experiment seems to make it on every publication about Anna Maria Island. It's definitely on a must-do list.
Churning out freshly made donuts is all these folks do. Get there early! There are line ups out the door on a consistent basis.

Ginny n Jane E's ~ Anna Maria
Although typically Ginny n Jane E's is sought out for its breakfast options, they do offer danishes the size of our head! So this quirky gift shop breakfast bar makes it onto our list of Sweet Treats to try.
This shop also sells refurbished vintage items, jewelry, and coastal furnishings are for sale here as well as a delicious bakery. This is the Hub of Anna Maria, a junction where locals and tourists alike can surf the net, enjoy specialty coffees, cakes, and sandwiches.

Located in a sweet little Floridian style plaza. The Anna Maria Island Creamery and Bakery serves up home made Italian gelato, sorbets, pastries, assorted desserts, handmade truffles and locally roasted gourmet coffee specialties.

Holmes Beach is the heart of the island and a bit spread out of sweet treat candy shops. Most of them are located in the local plazas.
Try some cool ice cream or cheesecake shops in the East Bay Drive plaza or enjoy the whimsical shop in the Plaza off of Gulf and Marina Drive.
It's great to hit these sweet treat dessert shops when you are out shopping for beach wear and beach-y trinkets or art at the local mom and pop stores.
We have to admit we are partial to the whimsy of the Island Creamery in Holmes Beach right next to our fave women's shops like Sand Dollar and SaltAir boutiques. Don't forget to check out the parrots outside the beach store nearby.

We love this super fun whimsical atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door of this little ice cream, candy and fudge shop.
The colors and bright gum-ball counter make us smile from the get go. Offering award-winning ice cream, milk shakes, floats, sundaes, homemade fudge and special candy treats this is a must-do stop!
Here you'll find unusual yummy ice-cream flavors like butterscotch bomb, red raspberry cheesecake, carrot cake, banana cream pie, and so many more.

Holy Cow Ice Cream & Other Cool Stuff is just that a neat little ice cream chop in a funky atmosphere. A mish-mash of cows and island tiki huts make this eclectic little shop a cool place to visit.

The newest sweat treat dessert shop on Anna Maria Island. This little cafe boasts freshly made baked goods daily with pure local ingredients.
Delicious flavors like 'Grandmas Key Lime Pie, Lady Irish, Snickers, Peanut Butter Dream, Blueberry Lemon, and Chocolate Delight" make our mouths water.
You can buy little cuties sizes or order a full size cheesecake option. We love the rainbow birthday option for special celebrations.

Baskin Robbins ~ Holmes Beach
The ice cream chain that everyone is familiar with Baskin Robbins has been around since it first opened in 1945. Initially the ice cream store offered 31 flavours so that you could buy a different flavor every day of the month.
Their first original flavor creation was Banana Nut Fudge. This shop also offers the most favorite flavors like chocolate, vanilla and butter pecan.
Today they offer well over 31 flavors as well as ice cream cakes too.

Bradenton Beach
The village of Bradenton Beach is found on the southern end of the island.
The historic Bradenton Beach - Bridge Street Pier is one of the most beautiful piers we have ever laid eyes on.
Bridge Street has recently gone through an incredible revitalization. There are tons of new restaurants and shops like the new donut shop!
There are a couple of sweet treat dessert shops in Bradenton Beach to enjoy on Gulf Drive and on Bridge Street. Parking might be tricky so take the Free Trolley or better yet get there by boat!
We love playing a family game of mini-putt at The Fish Hole and meandering next door to the Fudge Factory!

The Fudge Factory ~ Bradenton Beach
If you are on the south end of the island this is the candy store near you!
The perfect spot for all kinds of treats and candy on the south end of the island. Located directly beside the Fish Hole Mini-Putt golf course. It's the best outing for a family who wants to enjoy a quick mini golf game and finish off with a sweet treats right on the same street.
This fab, little candy shop is found tucked amidst the Bridge Street shops. Most of the candy and ice-cream is home made. Meticulously prepared. This is a great stop for fudge, caramel popcorn, ice cream and candy. They have some whacky and weird stuff like chocolate covered bacon and more tempting items like homemade brittle and homemade turtles to try!
Gelato-Go ~ Bradenton Beach
Enjoy Italian gelato and a coffee at this cute little Bridge Street location on the bottom level of the building right on historic Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach. The smooth and creamy gelato transports you straight back to Italy. Yum!

Established in 1921 The Bridge Street Pier is located towards the south-eastern side of the island on the inter-coastal waterway. This pier is one of the prettiest and is the longest on the island for plenty of room to spread out and fish to your heart's content. It's a great spot for Bay fishing and when you get a hunger on head for a fresh made to order donut at Island Donut Company down Bridge Street off of the pier.
